Oude Molen

History

• Built in 1774, the mill was originally constructed to function as a gristmill. It remained operational for over a century before stopping in 1960. The mill underwent several restorations during its time of use but eventually ceased functioning due to changes in local government policies. In 1961, the land upstream was disowned by the local government.

The Oude Molen is a breast-shot water wheel with an iron breastshot and corresponding flume that remain from the original structure. The millhouse has been preserved, but other parts of the original building have been lost over time.
